Three gates, all before the expensive work
01Topic8 killed
The commercial lead approves the headline before anyone spends an hour on research. Seven subject areas are off limits for business reasons, not SEO ones.
02Compliance11 checks
Eleven mandatory checks from consumer law and state advertising rules, run before a reviewer ever sees the draft.
03Voice68 fixes
A native reviewer inside the industry reads for tone. Born from one batch returning 68 corrections, 66 of them phrasing rather than fact.
Killing a headline costs a sentence. Killing a finished article costs the research, the writing and forty images.

Production
Artwork became a system
Roughly 300 original images. Stock would have undercut the compliance work, so sourcing got its own pipeline: four filters, then a check by eye, then four brand layouts.

What went wrong
Three failures worth publishing
01Seven articles invisible to search
Entries existed in the page’s data array but no static card on the hub. People could reach them; the crawler could not. Lesson: if a link only exists after JavaScript runs, assume a crawler cannot see it.
02Homepage broken for everyone but me
A stylesheet was stripped for logged-out visitors while the admin view stayed perfect. Lesson: verify as the visitor, not the owner. Six rules came out of it.
03Translation deleted every source link
English versions were translated as text, so the references came across as plain words. Eighteen articles went live with zero citations. Lesson: translate the markup, not the sentence.
